Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Master’s degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geological and geotechnical investigations, with at least 5 years in senior roles for highway/expressway or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in advanced geological and geotechnical software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, Rocscience, or Plaxis).
• Strong understanding of geological hazard assessment, slope stability analysis, and material testing.

Key Competencies:

• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and under pressure.

 Preferred:

• Extensive knowledge of Nepal's geological conditions, particularly in mountainous and seismic-prone areas.
• Experience with international construction standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Geological and Geotechnical Leadership: 

• Oversee geological surveys, soil and rock investigations, and geotechnical assessments for highway/expressway construction projects.
• Provide expert advice on terrain analysis, material suitability, and geological hazards.

2) Hazard Mitigation and Risk Management:

• Identify and analyze geological risks such as landslides, soil erosion, and subsidence in project areas.
• Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation and ensure project safety.

3) Design and Planning Support:

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to integrate geological insights into design and construction plans.
• Review and approve geological and geotechnical designs to ensure compliance with standards.

4) Field Supervision and Monitoring:

• Lead and supervise site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Monitor excavation, tunneling, and other construction activities for geological compliance.

5) Technical Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare comprehensive geological and geotechnical reports with detailed analysis and recommendations.
