Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or Earth Sciences.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in mineral exploration, preferably with experience in metallic minerals (e.g., copper, iron).
Familiarity with geological challenges in Himalayan terrains is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in geological modeling software and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
Knowledge of drilling methods, sampling techniques, and QA/QC practices.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent report-writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work in remote locations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1) Exploration and Surveying:
Conduct geological field surveys, including mapping, sampling, and trenching, to identify mineral deposits.
Utilize geophysical and geochemical methods to assess mineral potential in exploration areas.
Develop and manage exploration strategies to achieve project goals efficiently.
2) Drilling and Sampling:
Plan and supervise drilling programs, including core logging, chip sampling, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
Ensure accurate documentation and collection of geological data for resource evaluation.
Data Analysis and Resource Modelling:
Analyze geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to prepare detailed reports and resource estimates.
Develop 3D geological models using software like Data mine, Leapfrog, or equivalents.
3) Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
Prepare technical reports compliant with local and international standards (e.g., JORC/NI 43-101).
Assist in securing exploration licenses and permits from relevant authorities in Nepal.
4) Collaboration and Safety:
Work closely with mining engineers and other stakeholders to incorporate geological findings into mine planning. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines in all activities.
